On April 30, 2019, a shooter entered a classroom at UNC Charlotte. One student heroically tackled the gunman, saving others but losing his life. In nearby rooms, students tried to barricade doors with desks—yet had no way to lock them.
Moved by this tragedy, our founder Nikolas Ackerman envisioned a simple, universal solution to protect classrooms and prevent such sacrifice.
